& Culture

Tatjana von Stein is an interior architecture, interior design, and furniture design studio with a global reach. The studio is headquartered in London, serving international projects high-end residential, luxury hotels, members’ clubs, and creative spaces across the across the world.

In response to growing demand and a deep appreciation for local craftsmanship, the studio expanded to Mallorca in 2025, establishing a base to service the Balearic Islands and the Mediterranean region. This presence allows for more intimate collaborations with local artisans, bringing a focus on materiality and craftsmanship, and creating spaces deeply rooted in the Mediterranean context.

The studio is known for creating intuitive, immersive interiors that reflect the unique character of each project. Founder & Creative Director Tatjana von Stein combines her French/German heritage with a thoughtful approach to the psychology of space, blending historical references with contemporary design. Her versatile approach ensures that each space is timeless yet relevant, with a subtle connection between past and present. This commitment to meaningful, enduring spaces shapes both the studio’s interiors and design collectibles.

In 2023, the studio launched Mise en Scène, its first collection of design collectibles, produced in collaboration with some of France’s finest artisans. The collection embodies the same dedication to craftsmanship, materiality, and timeless design that defines their interiors.

ARTISANS

We strive to be thoughtful when sourcing our materials, opting for the most responsible options wherever possible. Considerations include supply chain and renewability — things that help us minimise our impact on the natural world. As part of our journey to make a positive impact, we are continually exploring all our options.

MATERIALS

In our ongoing commitment to positive change within the design industry, we have a dedicated partnership with the Royal Society of Arts. Through the RSA network we are able to contribute to the development of emerging designers working to find solutions to the social and environmental issues we face today.

SUPPORTING THE ARTS

Impact is a journey, and transparency is key. We know there are areas where we can do better, and we'll always strive to do so. In the meantime, we will continue to be open and honest about the impact we're having, paying close attention to our carbon footprint and exploring all the options to help us improve.

HONESTY

Collaboration has been key in helping us sustain our values of quality, transparency, and craft excellence. We have partnered with Aurige, the French heritage conservation group who, with over 75 years' experience, have brought together a collective of specialist artisans dedicated to upholding design integrity and creating products that are made to last.
